Obituary for
Elsie Rowena Collins
Elsie Rowena Collins, age 89 of Tipp City passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Genesis Healthcare Troy Center. She was born in Krypton, Kentucky on January 3, 1928 the daughter of George Washington & Hattie (Pennington) Longworth. She moved to Ohio in 1965 and worked at various places including A.O. Smith for many years and her family business KOI Builders. She was a member of the Krypton Church of the Brethren, where she taught Sunday school, and was a member of the Tipp City Community Bible Church.
She is survived by her sons Jonathon Bruce (Cheryl) Collins and George “Michael” (Dailene) Collins, grandchildren Katie Collins, Michelle Collins Beavers, Andrea` Knight, Matthew (Heidi) Collins, Jeremy (Kristy) Collins, Nicholas Collins and Christina (John) McClement, and great grandchildren Meredith, Carson, Marley Paige, Cora and Stanley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son David Clark Collins, infant grandchildren Nathan and Crystal Collins and a brother Harry Douglas Longworth.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, May 12, 2017 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at the BLESSING-ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr., Tipp City. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City.
