Vernon Eugene "Shorty" Vencill
Vernon Eugene “Shorty” Vencill, age 73 of Arcanum passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Trotwood, Ohio on June 26, 1943 the son of Ralph & Faye (Grill) Vencill. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, and retired from Industrial Waste as a truck driver with more than 30 years.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda (Parsons) Vencill, son Clinton Vencill, daughters Dawn Houck and April Geesy, grandchildren Tony (Erin) Houck, Danielle Worsham, Amanda (Ryan) Borem, Andrew Vencill, Ryan Geesy and Brittany Houck, and great grandchildren Hailee, Charlie, Lynlee, Miliana, Riley and Bentley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Joe Vencill, and his brothers Ralph “Jr.” Vencill and Kenneth Vencill.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the BLESSING-ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. Tipp City. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 pm with Pastor Kyle Herrmann officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City.
