Marjorie Elizabeth Zimmerman-Jones, age 90 of New Carlisle, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2014 in Belle Manor Nursing Home, New Carlisle. She was born in West Jefferson, Ohio on February 9, 1924 the daughter of Raymond & Della (Russell) Penwell. She was the Salutatorian of the God’s Bible School class of 1945 where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Theology. She was a charter member of the Dayton Church of Christ in Christian Union on Wyoming St. and was ordained by the Wesleyan Tabernacle Assn. and Church of Christ in Christian Union.

She is survived by her son Neal (Sharon) Zimmerman, daughter Gloria (John) Johnson, grandchildren Della Johnson, Hope Johnson, Joshua (Heather) Zimmerman, April Zimmerman-Johnson, Amber Zimmerman (Joe) Schenk, and Jason (Julie) Zimmerman, and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Levon Zimmerman and Loren Jones, 3 sisters Dorthea Penwell, Mary Penwell, and Mildred (Penwell) Carroll, and 3 brothers Pat, William, and Herb Penwell. The family would like to thank the staff at Belle Manor Nursing Home and Hospice of Dayton for their compassion, years of care and friendship.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm in the BLESSING FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. Tipp City. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 1:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Josh Zimmerman officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City.
