Betty Jean Farley, age 89 of Indiana and formerly of Vandalia, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Countryside Meadows Nursing Home, Avon, Indiana. She was born in Ft. Pierce, Florida on August 23, 1928 the daughter of Raymond & Sarah (Edmonds) Long. She was a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Huber Heights and Renaissance Unity Church, Warren, Michigan.

She is survived by her children Linda Lakatos, Gloria Himes, Marcia (Joseph) Jordan, Terry (JoAnn) Farley and Julie (Todd Turner) Farley; 9 grandchildren Jason Himes, Christina Lakatos-Verhoef, Joseph Jordan, Justin Himes, Jaime Hildebrand, Kristen Krickenbarger, Cameron Farley, Lindsey Farley and Jenson Turner; and 10 great grandchildren Christopher, William, Joshua, Elizabeth, Jacob, Dorian, Zaidee, Kyli, Brionna and Arden.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband D.C. Farley and a sister Joyce Scott.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the BLESSING-ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr., Tipp City. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Edgar Pike officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City.
