Glenn Gordan Buirley
Glenn Gordan Buirley, age 94 of Tipp City, passed away Monday, July 24, 2017 at Upper Valley Medical Center Hospice Unit, Troy. He was born in Troy, Ohio on August 14, 1922 the son of Glenn Albert & Myra (Colville) Buirley. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII in Africa and Italy. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #174 and Eastern Star #307 of Tipp City, and the First Presbyterian Church of Troy. He drove for F.I.S.H., drove a school bus for Tipp City Schools and was a former EMT for Tipp City EMS. Glenn never knew a stranger and loved to meet people and help anyone who needed a hand. He was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, uncle and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughter Kathy (Don) Oldham, son Dan Buirley, granddaughter Christina, great grandsons Josh, Joey and Jessie, sisters Helen Ash, Linda (Dale) Knife and Sally (Huey) Jordon, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 68 years Mildred (Kretzler) Buirley, a daughter-in-law Millicent Buirley, a grandson Gordan Scott Buirley and 6 brothers Cliff, Bob, Bill, Raymond, Dave and Tom.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, July 28, 2017 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the BLESSING-ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. Tipp City. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Edmond Hart officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City.
