Robert Willard Snyder, age 94 of Dayton passed away Monday, January 30, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on January 22, 1923 the son of Willard & Marguerite (Niehaus) Snyder. He was a member of Sulphur Grove United Methodist Church and worked for many years at WPAFB. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Ticonderoga during WWII.

He is survived by his daughters Peggy Combs (David Conter) of Huber Heights, and Michele Neighbors of Houston, Texas, grandchildren Holly (Jason) Boehmer of Centerville, Ryan (Megan) Combs of Labanon, Kyla, Delaney and Nathanial Neighbors of Houston, Texas, great grandchildren Seth and Gage Boemer and Alexis, Caden and Crew Combs, nephew Bill (Judy) Chamberlain and a niece Debbie Snyder.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 68 years Mildred Eileen Snyder in 2015, a son-in-law Ken Neighbors, a brother William Snyder and a sister Marion Chamberlain.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 3:00 pm at the BLESSING-ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr., Tipp City. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:30 until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Robert’s memory to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton ,Ohio 45420.
