Obituary for Donald Michael Losh

Donald Michael Losh, age 66 of Vandalia, passed away Monday, July 25, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 9, 1949 the son of Joe & Marie (Rakovan) Losh. He was a graduate of Bowling Green State University and retired from Schwan’s Ice Cream as a delivery driver. After retirement, he worked at Olive Garden on Miller Lane where he baked over 1 million bread sticks in the 2 years he worked there. He shared his passion for softball with the Olive Garden Reds, where he still played catcher at the age of 66. He loved being outdoors and in nature, he collected model trains which took over his basement.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sheila (Thompson) Losh, children Davida Martin, Deanna Losh, and Jeffery Wilmoth, grandchildren Henry Martin, Mitchell Martin, and Alaina Wilmoth, a sister Nancy (David) Hartsook, and a niece Kristin Maehl.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his God parents Irvin & Jewell Manzell.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, July 29, 2016 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the BLESSING-ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr., Tipp City. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 1:00 pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Don’s memory to the American Heart Association – Miami Valley Area, 124 N. Jefferson St. Dayton, Ohio 45402.
