Obituary for
Beatrice Carpenter
Beatrice Hanshaw Carpenter, age 90 of Miami Springs, Florida, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2016 in her residence. She was born in Olive Hill, Kentucky on December 30, 1925 the daughter of Russell & Lillie (Whitt) Hanshaw. She was a member of the Miami Springs Women’s Club. During World War II she made ammunition in Kentucky as part of the “Rosie the Riveter” campaign.
She is survived by her sons Larry (Ann) Carpenter and Stephen (Susan) Carpenter, 2 sisters Claire Brewster and Ruth Sell, grandchildren Angie Rowland, Katie Sanchez, Cari Carpenter, Stephen James Carpenter, and David James Carpenter, great grandchildren Abby, Jack, McKenna, Summer, and Marley and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of over 45 years James Carpenter in 1991, brothers and sisters Holline Mullins, Mary Adams, Russell Hanshaw, James Hanshaw, and Phillip “Tex” Hanshaw.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, February 29, 2016 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the BLESSING-ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. Tipp City. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Beatrice’s memory to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Southern Ohio Chapter, 2300 Wall St. Suite H, Cincinnati, Ohio 45212.
