Obituary for Myrtle Marie Melloncamp

Myrtle M. Melloncamp. Age 91 of Butler Twp., passed from this earth to be with her heavenly father on Thursday, November 26, 2015 in Hospice of Dayton. She was born in New England, North Dakota on May 31, 1924, the oldest of 11 children of Paul J. & Stella E. (Arndt) Wiegand. She served for 3 years in the Women’s Army Corp. during WWII. She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church, serving in many areas. After her children were grown she worked at Winters / Bank One Bank until retirement.

She is survived by her children Nadiene (Gary) Brooks of Union, and Kevin Melloncamp of Key West, Fl., 3 grandchildren Leah (Ian) Good of Minneapolis, Mn., Steven Brooks of Detroit, Mi., and Mark (Kelcee) Brooks of Gordon, 4 great grandchildren Tabitha Wells, Charles Good, Ingrid Good, and Leland Brooks, 3 sisters Viola Schmidt, Jeannette Opsahl, and Nora Nystrom, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 63 years Walter M. Melloncamp on October 20, 2010, and 7 brothers and sisters.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, December 4, 2015 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm in the BLESSING-ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. Tipp City. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 12:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Ryan Shellabarger officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Myrtle’s memory to the Alzheimers’ Association, 3797 Summit Glen Dr. Suite 100, Dayton, Ohio 45449, Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45420, or to St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 5040 Rye Dr., Huber Heights, Ohio 45424.
