Obituary for Cale Engle Jr.

Cale Engle Jr., age 89 of Tipp City, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born in Kettle Island, Kentucky on January 1, 1926 the son of Cale Franklin Sr. & Winifred (Burns) Engle. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served in WWII. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, UAW, and the Oakdale Baptist Church in Pineville, Kentucky. He retired in 1987 from General Motors Delco Moraine Plant.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Pauline (Wilder) Engle, children Judy (Don) Lawson, Wendy Taylor, Richard Engle, Paul (Karen) Engle, Rona (Joe) Springer and Lisa Engle, 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his 1st wife Bobbie (Cox) Engle, daughter Joan Sutherland, 2 brothers and a sister.
The family would like to thank all the nurses in the ICU at Good Samaritan Hospital and Hospice of Dayton for their care and compassion during this difficult time.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2015 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm in the BLESSING-ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr., Tipp City. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 1:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Gary Lovitt officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Cale’s memory to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45420. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.blessingfh.com.
