Obituary for Robert Richard Haas

Robert Richard Haas, age 92 of Louisville, Kentucky and formerly of Vandalia, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015 in the Nazareth Home, Louisville, Kentucky. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on October 3, 1922 the son of Fred & Anna (O’Bryan) Haas. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as a communication specialist in Europe during WWII.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Elaine & Ken Brumbaugh, granddaughter Carrie (Jim) Melton, grandson Robert Collins, granddaughter-in-law Kimberly (Jim) Scott, great grandchildren Jamie and Tyler Melton, Bo, Natalie and Ron Collins, Thomas and Christopher Cook, great great grandchildren Keenan, Xavier, Nevaeh, Angel and James.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Glenna Ileene Haas, son-in-law Larry Collins, a grandson Thomas James Cook and several brothers and a sister.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the BLESSING-ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. Tipp City. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Todd Hoskins officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 7020 A.C. Skinner Parkway, Suite 100, Jacksonville, Florida 32256.
