Obituary for Vaughn Gibson

Vaughn Gibson, age 81 of Dayton, passed away Monday, April 6, 2015 in Miami Valley Hospital. He was born in Knott County, Kentucky on June 10, 1933 the son of Denver & Lena (Dixon) Gibson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict, retired from General Motors Delco Moraine in December 1999 after 43 years and was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Dayton.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Angelita Gibson, children Greg (Jackie) Gibson, Mark (Crisina) Gibson, Jon (Becky) Gibson, Eric (Kristina) Gibson, Victor Habersmith, Tona Karrick, and Pam Smith, 12 grandchildren, brothers Doris (Carol) Gibson and Denver Gibson, a sister Clotene (Kenneth) Noel, a sister-in-law Alice Gibson and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Denver and Lena Gibson, step father Arnold Blackwell, brothers Lowell Gibson and Ray Blackwell, and sisters Christean and Annalee Gibson.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, April 10, 2015 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm in the BLESSING-ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. Tipp City, Ohio. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 12:00 pm in the funeral home with his son Pastor Jon Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City.
