Talena Darlene Fleenor Dorton, age 52 of Vandalia, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2013 in Hospice of Dayton. She was born in Pennington Gap, Virginia on November 9, 1960 the daughter of Ron and Elsie (Martin) Fleenor. She was a 1979 graduate of Butler High School and a graduate of Sinclair College. She worked at Eastway in Dayton for the past 16 years and was a member of the Living Word Church in Vandalia. She loved to read especially her bible.

She is survived by her parents, 2 sons Jonathan Dorton and Collin Wells of Vandalia, a sister Rhonda Fleenor of Vandalia, 2 brothers Mark Fleenor of Northridge and Tim (Trish) Fleenor of Palm Coast, Florida, nieces Christine Cox of Vandalia and Vivienne Morrison of Vandalia, Trinity, Destiny and Kylee Fleenor of Palm Coast, Florida, nephews Alec Fleenor and Sammy Buckner of Vandalia, and Anthony Cox of Centerville.

She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, 2 aunts, 2 uncles and 3 cousins.

She leaves behind aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends. Her leaving has left a void that can never be filled.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, October 28, 2013 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm in the BLESSING FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. Tipp City. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at 10:30 am in the funeral home with Pastor Pat Murray officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Talena’s memory to the Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative for Leiomyosarcoma Research, 17 Bethea Drive, Ossining, New York 10562.
