Donald Ray Potter
Donald Ray Potter, age 82 of Huber Heights, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013 in Dayspring of Miami Valley Care Center, Fairborn. He was born in Greenup, Kentucky on May 9, 1930 the son of Richard & Opal (Reed) Potter. He retired from General Motors in 1986 after 38 ½ years as a Machine Repairman. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons of Huber Heights. He loved fishing, hunting, and gardening especially his fruit trees.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Flora Anna Lou (King) Potter, 4 children Gary Potter, Edward Potter, Patricia Clawson, Jeannette Brents, 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 sisters Ethel Rayburn and Alice Rife, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and 3 brothers Virgil, Richard, and Jack.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, May 3, 2013 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm in the BLESSING FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. Tipp City. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 12:00 pm in the funeral home with Rev. Paul King and Rev. James King officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City.
