Obituary for
William E. Irwin Sr.
William E. Irwin, Sr., age 81 of Riverside, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2012 in Kettering Medical Center. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on January 26, 1931 the son of Thomas & Margaret (Douglas) Irwin. He was a 1949 graduate of Chaminade High School, a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War and a life member of the VFW Post #2800 Dayton.
He is survived by his wife Vivian F. Havenga, daughter Catherine (Craig) Fenton, son William (Ricki) Irwin Jr., step children David Bruggeman, Les Bruggeman, Dale Bruggeman, Sharon Bruggeman, Jeffrey T. Havenga, James Havenga Jr., grandchildren Gina, Dylan, and Anna, numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, and his many friends at Riverside Seniors and Milton Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife Eva Anna Irwin, son Michael Irwin, 2nd wife Alice Bruggeman, step son Danny Bruggeman, and a step daughter Christine Havenga.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2012 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm in the BLESSING FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. Tipp City. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Darryl Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City.
