Obituary for Floyd Allen

Floyd Allen, age 73 of Vandalia, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2011 in his residence. He was born in Hazzard, Kentucky on January 25, 1937 the son of Fulton & Bessie (Watkins) Allen. He was a veteran of the US Air Force where he served in the Vietnam War. He was a lifetime member of the AMVETS, American Legion Post and VFW. He was the Vice President of the American Legion Riders and a member of the Patriot Guard. He was a Master Mason and 32nd Degree Scottish Rite and a member of the John W. Durst #716 F&AM.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Loraine (Adams) Allen, son and daughter-in-law Jess and Tina Allen of Vandalia, a brother Arthur Allen of Chicago, a sister Clair Wright of Florida, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Manuel and Al.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2011 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm in the BLESSING FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. Tipp City, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 12:00 pm with Rev. Ron Hajarian officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City.
